You own your Chats — all of them. Not Google, not ChatGPT, not Anthropic.
No more truncation where you lose the thread. No more training on your
private chats. Less fear of hackers. You are in total control. Here's
where your Chats are saved, and how to Sync them across your own
devices, privately and securely.
1 SEND (↑ button)
Find it: from the main screen, press CHATS (left sidebar opens).
Press it, and it sends your entire Chat list to your private
SafetyBuddy cloud scratchpad — a temporary holding spot in Google's secure
cloud, used only when you choose to swap Chats between your devices.
2 SYNC (button next to SEND)
While your Chats are sitting in that scratchpad, your other
devices can Sync to them by pressing their own Sync button. After this,
the cloud and that device exactly match each other.
⚠ This clears every Chat on the device that presses Sync.
That's why SafetyBuddy gives you Snapshot and Restore, below.
3 Snapshot & Restore
Find them: Timers and Tools menu → My Usage tab, at the bottom of the page.
Snapshot grabs a copy of your complete Chat
list and saves it to your device's cache memory.
(Don't clear your cache, or you'll lose this snapshot.)
Restore puts those Chats back. Once
Syncing is no longer needed, press Restore and your Chats return to your
HOBB list, exactly as they were.
4 Library (bonus)
But wait, there's more. All the while, your Chats are
automatically saved and updated to any drive you choose on your system —
even a thumb drive. Just press the Library button (next to Send and
Sync) and pick the folder where you want them saved. They're all
automatically updated and timestamped, so you can retrieve any of them,
any time, under your control.
Continuing your work on another device? Recommended order:
1. Take a Snapshot on the receiving (Sync) device.
2. On the "FROM" device (where your Chats are now): press SEND to save
them to the Cloud scratchpad.
3. On the "TO" device (where you're Syncing): press SYNC, and you can
continue your work exactly where you left off.
