Both providers operate enterprise-grade infrastructure trusted by hospitals, financial institutions, and governments worldwide.

Your data travels over encrypted connections using standard internet security protocols — protected in transit and at rest regardless of which provider is handling your request.

⚖️ What SafetyBuddy.info Is — And Is Not

SafetyBuddy.info is a user-controlled platform, similar to how YouTube hosts videos. We provide the secure space and the tools. You decide what goes in, who sees it, and when it leaves.

SafetyBuddy.info is not a HIPAA Covered Entity or Business Associate. This is an important distinction — and an honest one. HIPAA governs hospitals, clinics, and insurers. It does not govern platforms where you choose to store and organize your own records.

🔒 How We Protect Your Identity — The PHIPS Architecture

Most health apps send your documents — including your name, date of birth, and medical record number — to cloud AI for analysis. That combination is Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA, and handling it creates serious legal and privacy obligations for any company that receives it.

SafetyBuddy takes a different approach. Before any document leaves your device, we remove the patient from it. Your name becomes a numbered token. Your address becomes a numbered token. Every identifying detail is replaced using a private lookup table — your personal mask — that never leaves your device.

The result: the AI never had PHI. There is nothing to intercept in transit, no database of identifiable records on a cloud server, no regulatory trigger. Your identity returns to your document only on your own device, using the mask that never left.

Your personal mask is built once during a brief one-time setup called the Privacy Profile. You can export it as a file and import it on other devices — so your privacy protection travels with you.

Clinical text and patient identity are never bundled in a single AI request. Your personal redaction mask is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to SafetyBuddy servers.

🏥 The HIPAA Reality Nobody Tells You

HIPAA is a powerful law — but it has a fundamental limitation: it relies on the integrity of millions of people inside healthcare organizations who handle your records every day.

Those people — billing clerks, IT staff, contractors, administrators — typically sign a confidentiality agreement. They do not hold security clearances. They are not vetted the way a government intelligence officer is vetted.

On SafetyBuddy.info, control never leaves your hands:

• You choose what data to store
• You decide who to share it with — and for how long
• You can modify or delete anything, at any time
• My Cloud (your document vault) is never shareable — it is private by design, no exceptions.
• All other sections share only when you choose to share them

You may access, correct, export, or permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time — no questions asked. Exceptions apply only for legally required retention or active security investigations. Under CCPA and applicable state laws, you also have the right to opt out of data sharing. We do not sell your data.

Sophisticated cyberattacks are a reality for every online platform — from the largest banks to the smallest startups. We apply every practical layer of protection available. But we will never tell you that any system is 100% immune.

SafetyBuddy.info reserves the right to change suppliers, platforms, and features as technology advances — independent of the specific providers in place at the time of your onboarding. We are not locked to any single vendor. We are locked to performance, security, and your experience.

Our Three Commitments When Things Change

• Performance without compromise — Changes are only made when they improve feature performance without reducing security or privacy protections already in place.
• Advance notice whenever possible — When significant changes are anticipated, SafetyBuddy.info will notify you as soon as practical. When urgent changes are required on short notice, we will advise you at the earliest opportunity after the fact.
• Month-to-month only — always — SafetyBuddy.info does not offer or accept annual agreements. Every subscription is strictly month-to-month. If a platform change does not work for you, you are never locked in. Cancel anytime, no penalty, no questions.
